The Gold Standard is an unlockable kart. Get at least one star on every regular Grand Prix (150cc) and Mirror Mode race to unlock the Gold Standard kart. You'll need to get 1st place in 3 out of the 4 races for a score of 55 or higher for a single star.
Gold Tires are unlockable wheels. To unlock the Gold Tires, beat every Staff Ghost time Time Trials mode. There is one Staff Ghost for each of the 32 Tracks.
The Gold Glider is an unlockable glider. Collect 10,000 Coins. Playing Multiplayer on or offline is a great way to collect coins.
